Leavenworth Washington Events

Take a drive through the majestic Cascade mountain range to the most enchanting village in Washington. At noon on Saturday you hear the Alp horn opening the annual Maifest celebration.  A wave of town people wearing lederhosen (leather pants) and dresses (dirndls) parade down along with goats, horse-drawn wagons, and Bernese Mountain dogs.Flowers are blooming in baskets throughout the town. This is all set in a picture postcard setting with snow capped mountains, vibrant green hills, lush evergreens and the smells of gingerbread and sauerkraut permeate the senses.Oompah music plays while traditional folk dancers prepare the crowd for the popular maibaum dance. Local bands perform throughout the afternoon and artists are displaying their wares.When it's time for a break, there are benches and a quiet trail meandering along the river, located right behind the town on Blackbird Island
